Kyrenia is a town on the northern coast of Cyprus, noted for its historic harbor and castle.

This Mediterranean town with its 6,000 year long history, unique remains of countless civilizations and miles of natural beaches, calm sea, stunning villas and mild climate is an exciting and unusual holiday getaway.

This picturesque port is bounded to the north by the sea and to the south by the greenery of the Beşparmak Mountain range, Kyrenia’s tiny but charming harbor offers the most magnificent scenery on the island. Full of yachts and fishing boats and framed by the imposing Crusader castle and with the backdrop of the jagged green mountains behind and the calm sparkling sea in front, the harbor has an almost surreal quality about it. Kyrenia Castle houses a museum containing the remains of the one of the oldest ancient ships salvaged from the sea.

The calming atmosphere of this beautiful seaside city makes it an easy place to let time and place take you on a magic carpet ride, exploring shops, markets and local cafés in the late morning, stroll the narrow cobbled alleys behind the harbor in the afternoon, or step out for a brisk walk along the promenade and sea wall in the evening.

The old town of Kyrenia is filled with whitewashed buildings and the ruins of walls and towers that once protected the city from attack.

During the day Kyrenia may seem quiet and sleepy, but once the sun sets the atmosphere is transformed as restaurants and tavern owners prepare for the night and the entertainment it brings.

Kyrenia has an excellent night life and a variety of locations for holiday makers to try. There are a variety of late night bars along the sea front that play a variety of music to suit everyone and no matter where you choose to have a drink, quaint but colourful cafes to sit and relax, or lively venues to dance the night away, you will be made to feel welcome.
